Click here to access the Everyday Math Online website.

Plate Tectonics Songs

Fourth Graders,
Nice job creating your own lyrics to a song you all know and love.  Your group will be teaching the song to the class, and we will record ourselves on Garageband next week.  Please practice singing your song over the weekend. :)
Miss Lee

Subduction(Sung to the Tune of Fire Burning)
Somebody call plates collide
And one plate moves under another
That’s called subduction
A whoa!
We got the cool right now
Then volcanoes start to form
On the ground
A whoa!
Oa oh oh oh oh
Lava burning lava burning
In the volcano
Who-a!
Transform(Sung to the tune of Jingle Bells)
Transformation, transformation
Transform boundaries
That is when plates slides
Horizontally
Hey!
Transformation, transformation
Transform boundaries
That is the end of our song
Transform boundaries!
Hey!
Divergent(Sung to the tune of We Will Rock You)
We will
We will
Move you!
We will
We will
Move you!
Divergent means plates pull away
In the Atlantic Ocean
We will
We will
Move you!
We will
We will
Move you!
Convergent(Sung to the tune of Thriller)
Convergent!!!
When two plates collide
It forms a volcano and lava gushes out
In 30 years it will explode
And that’s all
Convergent
Convergent
Ow!

Daily Writing Prompt Reminders

On Mondays and Wednesdays, you are responsible for completing the DWP as part of your morning work.  This is to be done BEFORE you start working on your cursive.

Here are the reminders that I glued to the inside front cover of your DWP spirals:
  • Write only one prompt per page.
  • Use both sides of your notebook paper(front and back)
  • Do not skip around in your notebook.
  • Use a post-it or paper clip as a bookmark.
  • Write the date on the upper right-hand corner.
  • Either write the prompt(question) or restate the prompt in your answer.
  • Write neatly.  You may choose cursive or print.
  • Check your response.  Proofread and edit.
